Welcome to Vanilla Fountain’s website. This is a company I have founded after close to twenty years’ experience in communication planning, writing, content generation, editing and translation (German-English, English-German).

My name is Sherin Khullar. I am a postgraduate communications professional, language enthusiast and fine-tuner and am concerned with communication in its totality – from the conceptualisation of an initiative to its ultimate impact on a given target audience.

Communication can never exist in a vacuum or without a context. Understanding the reason for the need to communicate and the circumstances surrounding the intended communication permits the formulation of effective and focused communication strategies and insights.

After a distinctly languages- and communication-centric focus at school, I went on to study French language and Literature and then German at university, graduating as a Gold Medallist in German (Hons.) and subsequently completing a postgraduate degree (M.A.) in the same subject.

I have worked in communication-centric fields for the greater part of my career. Until December 2008, I was in senior management, heading the Corporate Communications department of a pharmaceuticals major and overseeing employer branding. Immediately prior to that assignment, I worked in middle management, heading the Creative & Editorial unit within the Corporate Communications department of a global healthcare company. Other assignments have included leading the editorial function in the Medical Communications unit of a global company. Towards the earlier part of my career, I worked with international development organisations headquartered in Germany.

My work with and within corporations over the years – supported by supplementary, communication-centric programmes and affiliations – has resulted in varied insights into ‘the inside story’ and has honed my sensitivity to the needs and concerns of business associates. These insights have now been distilled into the Vanilla Fountain experience!
